For those who don’t know, Centralia was a PA coal mining town. A fire started in the coal mine and has been burning underground since 1962. As a result, there are several sink holes and the entire town has been abandoned. It does make for a pretty cool place to visit, so I’m told.

A lot of my friends at school are from the coal region. I can confirm that Centralia is in fact a cool place to visit, plus there are a few people who actually still live there.

The inspiration for the Silent Hill video game series I believe. I've always been fascinated with Centralia.

I plan on going to Centralia sometime, hopefully this year! I’m very excited! Driving about 4 hours to see.. well nothing actually. That’s the point, to see the nothing.

I miss my Eagles..

My 87 was set up in a similar way, I yanked the plastics, Sawzalled a little and stuffed 30x9.50s under it. It’d go almost anywhere a Cherokee could.

Someone has great rattle can handwriting in that last pic!

Fact: least populous municipality in Pennsylvania, although it only just slipped behind S.N.P.J not too many years ago.
